On April 17, 2026, a new charity T-shirt featuring Godzilla will go on sale across Japan. The project brings together major entertainment company Toho and global clothing brand UNIQLO under the banner of “PEACE FOR ALL.”

Toho Joins UNIQLO’s “PEACE FOR ALL” Project

Toho, the entertainment company known for expanding films, theater, and anime worldwide, is participating in UNIQLO’s charity T-shirt initiative, 「PEACE FOR ALL」. This special コラボ (korabo, collaboration) T-shirt will be 発売される (hatsubai sareru, released) on April 17 at UNIQLO stores nationwide and through its online store.

The design features Toho’s group slogan:

「Moments for Life その時間が、人生の宝になる。」 Moments for Life sono jikan ga, jinsei no takara ni naru. “Moments for Life — That time becomes a treasure in your life.”

The slogan is expressed in a collage design alongside Toho’s iconic character, ゴジラ (Gojira, Godzilla). The price is 1,500 yen. In physical stores, sizes range from S to XL, while the online store offers XS through 4XL.

The timing is notable: the latest film in the series, 「ゴジラ-0.0(マイナスゼロ)」 directed, written, and with VFX by Yamazaki Takashi, will be released nationwide on November 3, 2026.

What Is “PEACE FOR ALL”?

“PEACE FOR ALL” is a charitable 取り組み (torikumi, initiative) in which collaborators volunteer their participation. Through their cooperation, all profits—equivalent to 20% of the list price per T-shirt—are given as a 寄付 (kifu, donation).

Since its launch in 2022, total donations have exceeded 2.88 billion yen. The funds are donated to three organizations, including UNHCR(国連難民高等弁務官事務所) (Kokuren Nanmin Kōtō Bengaikan Jimusho, the UN Refugee Agency), and are used for humanitarian aid.

In this round of the project, other participants include Kuriyama Hideki, Chief Baseball Officer of the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters, and the comprehensive chemical manufacturer Toray, known for tackling social issues through the power of materials.

Messages from the Participants

Kuriyama Hideki shared a heartfelt message emphasizing human connection:

会って話そう! Atte hanasō! “Let’s meet and talk!”

He continued:

直接話すことこそ人がつながり、幸せや平和に向かう第一歩だと思うのです。 Chokusetsu hanasu koto koso hito ga tsunagari, shiawase ya heiwa ni mukau daiippo da to omou no desu. “It is precisely talking face-to-face that connects people and becomes the first step toward happiness and peace.”

Toho also expressed its vision:

「人生は素晴らしい」と思える瞬間を届けたい。 “Jinsei wa subarashii” to omoeru shunkan o todoketai. “We want to deliver moments that make you feel, ‘Life is wonderful.’”

The company added that even a few hours of experience can one day support someone’s life, and that deeply moving emotion—揺り動かす (yuriugokasu, to move someone’s heart)—can transcend generations and cultures.

Toray explained that the emblem printed on its T-shirt design dates back to its founding in 1926 and symbolizes “heaven, earth, and humanity” with three circles. With the belief that “materials have the power to change society,” the company said it has 込める (komeru, put into) its unwavering determination into this single piece.

Cultural Context: Why Godzilla?

Godzilla is more than just a movie monster. Since his first appearance in 1954, he has symbolized everything from nuclear anxiety to national resilience. By pairing Godzilla with a global peace initiative, Toho connects one of Japan’s most recognizable cultural icons with a message of humanitarian support.

At the same time, UNIQLO’s T-shirt projects reflect a uniquely Japanese blend of commerce and social contribution. Limited-edition designs tied to meaningful causes are a common way for companies to engage the public in charitable giving.
